UPDATE AS OF APRIL 27th - PLEASE NOTE: Since we spent two days instead of one completing the Reading Comprehension part of the AP exam, we are one day behind in the lesson plans. So - we did not read student essays and AP readers evaluations today in class. We will do so Thursday. If you want to wait to write your essay after having understood AP reader comments, you can do so. I will not collect the essays on Thursday as originally planned. I will collect them Friday.

In class, we will have read some student AP essays. We will also have read how the AP readers evaluated them using the AP writing rubric. Apply their criticisms and write your own AP essay tonight. Give yourself 40 minutes only. Do not use Google translator! Remember to include something very French - a proverb, idiomatic expressions, lines from all the songs you know.
If you do not know a French word - DO NOT USE ENGLISH - USE CIRCUMLOCUTION. Use many words to express the one word that you do not know.
The prompt is:

On dit souvent que le respect tient peu de place dans la société d’aujourd’hui. Qu’en pensez-vous ? Croyez-vous que les gens (vous-même inclus) reçoivent le respect qu’ils méritent ? En quelles circonstances est-il nécessaire de montrer du respect aux autres ? Discutez en vous servant d’exemples précis.

*While in the PC lab, we will review the PASSE COMPOSE (when to use AVOIR or ETRE) and L'IMPARFAIT and apply it to the recording of a picture sequence story.

2. This week many of you will be absent on Monday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday because of school trips.
The grammar focus for this week will be verb tenses.
Since this is the case, each student will receive an individual review packet for verb practice. There are 15 pages and they review the following verb tenses:

LES PASSES:

Tex Grammaire explains the verb tenses in succinct English.
